South Jordan is best known for Daybreak, a groundbreaking master-planned community that has become a model for new urbanism nationwide. Daybreak features a 22-acre lake, miles of trails, mixed-use retail, and a walkable village center. But South Jordan offers much more than Daybreak, with established neighborhoods, excellent schools, and a convenient location between Salt Lake City and Utah Valley.
The city has grown into one of Salt Lake County's most popular family destinations, with top-rated schools, extensive parks and recreation facilities, and a strong sense of community. The Jordan River Parkway trail system runs through the city, providing miles of paved trails for biking, walking, and running.
South Jordan is served by the Jordan School District and Canyons School District depending on the area. Both are well-regarded. Daybreak has its own set of newer schools. Herriman High School and Bingham High School are popular choices.
